We're here at the beginning of S1. Let's talk about Cornholio player agency's two players being represented in this league -- SBL's Indianapolis Invaders starting pitcher Nate Nitro, and SBLM's Sherbrooke Mohawks outfielder Home Run Kid.

Nitro had a solid S0 in the Minors with the Las Vegas Centurions, leading the league in strikeouts with 166 through 195+ Innings Pitched. After struggling through his first few starts, Nitro changed up his pitching repertoire and was able to turn things around. He finished the year with a 13-7 record and sported an ERA of 3.50. He also earned the Golden Glove Award for his outstanding, flawless fielding in ~30 chances. Once the bonus was announced for all players that wanted to go up into the S1 Draft -- Nitro did not hesitate and promptly declared himself eligible. It took some time for Nitro's name to be called, as he went 19th overall in the 4th Round of the S1 Entry Draft to the Invaders. This was a surprise turn of events for Nitro as he expected to be drafted a little higher based on his power potential. But that's okay and Nitro is going to make the three other teams pay for passing on him.

Home Run Kid has a similar story as Nitro. He wasn't drafted right away and had to wait some time until his name was called. Home Run Kid went to the Sherbrooke Mohawks and will be expected to start at left field for the Mohawks this season. HR Kid had a rough Spring Training, but it would later be revealed that HR Kid and some other Mohawk prospects did not get their training hours in time, so it showed in their subpar performances. But fortunately, Spring Training stats do not matter and this kid should be all set for the actual Regular Season.

Aaaaaaand we’re back with another Player Brand post ‘cause I need to get my Tee Pee. It’s been a whole season since my last brand post, so let’s get to it.

Nate Nitro had a decent rookie season as the “ace” starting pitcher for the Indianapolis Invaders. There were good starts, and there were some ok-ok starts and there were also some starts where Nitro simply got hammered. The latter seemed to happen in both of Nitro’s two postseason starts in the S1 World Series when Indianapolis played against the Toronto Bighorns. Is this a cause for concern? I’d more likely say yes than no. This is why Nitro will be hard at work through the offseason trying to take his pitches to the next level. With more new blood coming into Indianapolis through the draft, namely pitchers such as Ezekiel Bridges, Snarky Shaman and TJ Maddux - this virtually completes the starting rotation for the team and puts a lot more pressure on Nitro and fellow S1 draftmate Beatrix Ajax to lead the way. Indianapolis is also the defending champion too, so they’ve got a title to defend and a big target on their backs.

Home Run Kid’s name was called earlier than everybody thought in the S2 Draft. He was taken with the 6th overall pick, Round 2/Pick 2, to Charlotte Cardinals. Unfortunately this pick broke up the Cornholio/Indianapolis juggernaut as Corn also had 3 other players with Indianapolis and a fourth would complete the union. But regardless, Charlotte selected HR Kid over other notable players such as Ezekiel Bridges, Wade Landry among others. What does this say? Apparently the Cardinals like what they saw out of Home Run Kid toward the end of last season, especially when the Kid helped Sherbrooke Mohawks win the S1 SBLM Championship. HR Kid will join a lineup allegedly devoid of offensive firepower. Is this the dream marriage of a power hitting outfielder and a team in need of such a thing? Only time will tell.
