Reliever of the Year
Hey Awards Crew I figured the best way to start was to have us collaborate on defining each award and then later we can vote at the end of the season. Thank you all for offering to help. Please not that once we do define these Awards better that I will add our guidelines to this first post <3
How do we define the best reliever?

Best Reliever. I think qualities of great reliever are, Saves, Low Whip, Low ERA. Record doesnt matter for me. Also FIP is important. I think these are the attributes we should be looking at

Saves are nice but I would also consider Holds too since that adds a bit of berth to the middle relievers/setup men who don't get the save opportunities. Should also factor in Save% too to factor in Blown Saves.

Tempted to put ODC first, as I think their ERAs and ERA+ are close enough that there's at least a discussion to be had. What really concerns me for Rodriguez are the game outcomes - 3W-5L vs. 8W-5L for Rodriguez and ODC, respectively, are a bit of a red flag. And while it's true ODC's team came out a bit better in the end, there's also a 23 save difference between the two, which is huge. That being said, Rodriguez also only blew one save all season while ODC has 8.
But by advanced statistics Rodriguez has a great save % and he had far, far better results over what he could control. Their FIPs are as follows: Rodriguez 3.13, ODC 4.01; for comparison, their FIP-s are 77 & 94, meaning Rodriguez performed 23% better than the average while ODC performed 6% better when not accounting for fielders, and Rodriguez also had a higher WAR (0.9 vs. 0.7) in just over half of the innings played.
At the end of the day I'm fine with either winning, but I think Rodriguez has a more compelling argument by the #s.
Third would probably be SAS. Great W-L ratio, similar # of innings pitched to Rodriguez, good save %, just doesn't have as much value in advanced stats (even if his BABIP is great!). Also his ERA (1.70) is absolutely insane, but his ERA+ tells a very different story compared to the other two.
