Zheng Xiaojian SBLM Player Application Empty Zheng Xiaojian SBLM Player Application

Thu Jul 16, 2020 11:08 am
Player Name: Zheng Xiaojian
Weight: 170 lbs
Height: 5'10"
Age: 17
Gender: Male
1.) Your Backstory
Straight from the production city of Wuhan in the Republic of China, Zheng Xiaojian is someone that is not really known outside of his own province. China is not a huge baseball country and instead usually play sports such as basketball, table tennis, badminton, etc so finding quality players there is very hard. In a local travel league, scouts visiting the country to set up a camp noticed a kid who could touch 100 miles per hour on his pitches at just 17 years old though his pitching motion was a train wreck. Scouts recommended he come to North America to try out for the SBL and he has now declared for the minor league draft for the SBLM!

2.) Your past Baseball experiences
Zheng has played baseball from a young age as soon as he learned about it from a friend who had moved from Korea, who now plays for the SBLM's Redwood City Roos. He has been playing since age 11 and has always been a pitcher first and foremost.

3.) What type of player are you?
Power pitching relief pitcher. Zheng has a fastball, slider, and forkball and an interesting delivery on the mound.

4.) Where you scouted? If not why did you choose the SBLM?
Yes, as mentioned in the back story, Zheng was found by some local scouts who were setting up a youth baseball camp around the Republic of China. They saw that he had the potential to throw in the high ninetie's with his fastball and potentially hit around 100 or higher as well. Zheng's delivery is being refined right now so we may not see his true talent for a bit while he works on that.

5.) Interesting facts about your player.
Zheng Xiaojian is set to be the first player in the SBLM or the SBL from the Republic of China. He looks to represent his country and get more young kids interested in the sport to create a bigger influx of Chinese players within the league. The closest match currently would be Chien-Ming Wang out of Taiwan, who Zheng says is a big influence on him despite their different styles.
