Chien-Ming Wang SBLM Career Review Empty Chien-Ming Wang SBLM Career Review

Sat Aug 22, 2020 7:03 am
Chien-Ming Wang has one of the best pitcher's careers in the SBLM in the short time of this league. After a solid but not spectacular debut season where he averaged 3.88 ERA in Vegas Centurion, a team he joined on his own through an agent negotiation and signing, Wang was drafted at a rather low 7th pick, by round 2, to the Sherbrooke Mohawks. It was then where he found glory and showed to the world that he was one of the best pitching prospects in the S2 SBL Draft and a possible future ace.

In his debut season, he was slightly above average by ERA+, but some experts argued that it was a merely a byproduct of the pitcher-friendly park and the solid fielders that Vegas possessed at that time. He was a solid inning eater and has the highest win in SBLM, but many were still doubting his ability, and claiming that he was not straight killer with his low Ks, and he couldn't keep his BB low. What he had promise, was his lower HR/9 rate. A groundballer through and through, he was noted for his ability to get out by making the opponents hit bad grounders.

This was all debunked in his second and final SBLM season. He pitched exceptional in Mohawks, a batter park, and showed the world he truly meant business. He hit a few milestones and first-in-history like the first no-hitter and the first 200+ Ks season in the league. The man was one W away from a triple crown, and tied the WAR at 6.7 alongside his MVP-caliber fielder teammate Wade Landry. With 1.73 ERA, 217 K, 0.90 WHIP, 10 HR given, and 31 BB, there was no hotter pitching prospect than Wang, who closed his SBLM career with a ring.
