Teaching With Sensei Empty Teaching With Sensei

As the draft of the SBLM continues on, one man has chosen to take the longer route to stardom, by joining up late and fulfilling his destiny as a free agent. Strikeout Sensei, actually legally named this after his 18th birthday, comes to us from Tokyo Japan where he has played with some of the top elite talent in the NPB and a U-18 exceptional talent. What does it mean to be granted 'exceptional talent' status?

Well, it basically means that similar to hockey, when a player is seen as a bright young star with talent 'beyond their years', they are granted access to play in a league above their age level, simply because of how good they are. Because of this, when Sensei was just 16 years old, he was granted this status and already has 2 years of pro league experience under his belt. What does this mean for him in the SBL? Some would say nothing, as the leagues are completely different and filled with way different talents, however Sensei believes this is the opportunity he needs to escape the cultured play he was doing for so many years, and expand his horizons and his abilities.

We shall see who takes a chance on the young stud, and who decides to pass on him.

While we spoke previously about how Sensei came over from Japan, we also spoke about how he sadly missed the SBLM draft and as such, was selected on waivers by his new team. The Pittsburgh Pioneers took a chance on the young rookie and he has done alright for what it is. While he has been with Pittsburgh for their eleven games, he has only played in two games, and he has a 1-1 record which isn't too bad for someone who is way behind the rest of the team and has one save because of it. He has a 2.08 ERA in this time and does have 17 HA but really, the record and ERA is what truly matters.

Will Sensei be a golden glove receipant? Unlikely, because he is a rookie and the team is very deep with their pitching, he will likely only come in as a closer to try to finish out the game. That being said, if he can do this very effectively, people may notice him and want to see him more. But only time will tell for this

Keep following us for more updates on Sensei as they become available.
