Nate Nitro SBLM Career Recap
Wed Jul 08, 2020 11:40 am
Nate Nitro's one season in the SBLM is officially over. As a member of the Las Vegas Centurions, Nitro was the #2 pitcher in arguably the league's best pitching staff (Top-3 rankings in all 10 major team pitching statistical categories, #1 in six of them). In 30 starts, Nitro compiled a W/L record of 13-7 with an ERA of 3.50, a 1.22 WHIP mark, and a league-high 166 strikeouts. It was mostly a good year for Nitro in the regular season who changed up his pitching portfolio mid-way through the season in order to become more effective against batters - which also correlated to a sudden increase in strikeouts.
Strangely enough in the postseason, Nitro got hammered in both of his starts against Sherbrooke Mohawks, surrendering 7 runs in 12 innings. It was a forgettable postseason for Nitro and his Vegas Centurions who surprisingly got bounced out against these Mohawks short of the SBLM World Series.
Nitro wasted no time in declaring himself eligible for the S1 SBL Entry Draft and will look to become one of the first premier power pitchers in the SBL with an unusual heavy focus on velocity. Which SBL team will take a gamble on him is the big question.
