McKenzie goes pro Empty McKenzie goes pro

Sat Jul 04, 2020 2:50 pm
Kurtis McKenzie officially declared for the SBL draft following the Mohawks championship loss versus the Pioneers. The Mohawks left fielder destroyed the baseball all season long and is among the front runners for the league's MVP award. McKenzie has elite power to all fields, and has shown a strong ability to put the ball in play. Defense is a major concern about McKenzie due to his lackluster effort in that area. Still, his play in left for the Mohawks may be enough to take home the Gold Glove award. Some scouts have worried that McKenzie may have already peaked. If that is the case, he may still have a long SBL career ahead of him. He's easily already good enough.

Most of the SBL GMs have shown interest in drafting the young slugger. But where he will go is anybody's guess. It would be no surprise if he was taken early, and it wouldn't be much of a surprise if he was taken late. Who knows?
