S0 SBLM Pitcher of the Year

Hey Awards Crew I figured the best way to start was to have us collaborate on defining each award and then later we can vote at the end of the season. Thank you all for offering to help. Please not that once we do define these Awards better that I will add our guidelines to this first post <3

What makes a award winning pitcher?

I think the same qualities apply to Best Pitcher as Best Reliever. With Best Pitcher if a Starter i think how many innings they pitched, If they had any Complete games or Shutouts. Also indivitual stats like How many Home Runs they gave up, How Many hits etc

Quality Start % is important as a consistency factor. Complete games are nice for eating innings, especially if they are shutouts. ERA and WHIP are generally important, as are strikeouts (particular K:BB ratio). I'm not sure how relevant park factors are for the league in general (i.e. in the MLB, just pitching for Colorado generally means you're giving up some extra HRs and there's nothing you can do about it), so idk if there's anything extreme there that should be taken into consideration.

1. Cid Ramirez - Bridges only win him in raw ERA, walk given andHR given. Meanwhile, Ramirez has lower opponent .AVG, lower BABIP, #1 WHIP, much higher QS%(Bridges should have gotten more in a pitcher's park, but didn't) and CG%. He Ks a lot too, if that is a consideration.
2. Ezekiel Bridges - Still one of the best.

Realistically I think the trio currently listed (Bridges/McRlwain/Ramirez) plus Captain Hook are all great candidates.

I'm personally tempted to list McRlwain a bit higher than prior voters if only because he played 5-10% more innings than the rest (plus 3 more CGs than the rest of the pitchers), all while keeping a QS% of 70%. He also is in the top three for the vast majority of efficiency stats, which is all the more impressive provided his longevity.
