Before this sim we caught up with the league's oldest player, Rudi Stein on Chicago, to talk to him about what it's like to play in this league with all the youngins around him.

Rudi Stein wrote:Well first I played for the bad bears in the 70s as a kid. I showed potential, but I was too talented for the big leagues, so then GM Big Mac calls me up asking if I would play for Chicago, and I told him flat out no. Then he told me he'd slip some cash under the table for me to play so I agreed. Clearly Im the most talented pitcher in the game, and I just need to get used to the swing of things.

Despite being 59 years old, Stein has a 2.02 ERA this season and has been an asset for Chicago out of the bullpen.

Pittsburgh Pioneers 3B Ocean Man @a_Ferk was ejected in the 2nd inning of an eventual 5-4 loss to Las Vegas for arguing about the strike zone. We caught him just before he was escorted out of the stadium:

Ocean Man wrote:The umpire clearly needs new glasses
That is all
It was clearly not a strike

The Las Vegas Centurions completed a 4-game sweep over the Pittsburgh Pioneers with a 5-3 win, upping their winning streak to 6 games. We spoke with the Centurions managers on the team's recent success:

This is a team that was always better than we performed early on. I've seen these guys work hard on the practice field day in and day out, and a run of results like this was always coming. It's just served to put us back near the top of the league where we always should have been, and it's down to the hard work of these guys that we've gotten this far. Especially a sweep over Pittsburgh, another team that's among the strongest in the league, it just goes to show that their sweep of us a few weeks earlier was nothing more than a few bad bounces. Things are coming back to us now, and I can't wait to see what the future holds.

James Boxman @Siddhus pitches a complete game shutout to end Pittsburgh's losing streak, out-pitching Ezekiel Bridges in a 2-0 battle:

James Boxman wrote:“I was waiting till the game against Chicago, cause I knew that it was my chance to show who the best pitcher in the league was. And I did prove it, I’ll be taking home that Pitcher of the Year Award.”

Also on Star Wars night, Sherbrooke CF Sora Mekajiki @McWolf had himself a big game going 5-5 with 4 runs scored in an 8-3 victory over Redwood. He was approached for a quote after the game:

Sora Mekajiki wrote:Me hit good. 4 hits day before yesterday. 4 hits yesterday. 5 hits today. Eye 20/20. Ball falls on field. I run. Noboru akai taiyō no teikoku e no eikō

The Flamingos get a big win to end the Centurions winning streak, and even up their record at .500 once again. The Flamingos manager Fangs McWolf was approached for a quote:

Fangs McWolf wrote:The team has played well recently. The bats are swinging, the pitchers are pitching and the concessions bring in some money. I can't complain.

Tyler Martinez hits a walk off HR to give Chicago the win over Pittsburgh after they blew a 3 run lead in the top of the frame. We tried to get a quote from Mr. Martinez but were unable to, as he went straight to the locker room.

It was an insurance run at the time, but Gustav IsRealDaddy's @Daddy RBI single to score Caramel Delight in the top of the 9th ended up being the game-winning hit for Pittsburgh against Chicago. We spoke with Gustav on the importance of building on leads:

Gustav IsRealDaddy wrote:Anytime you can get insurance runs it’s always going to be a good thing. It takes the pressure off the rest of the team, more importantly the pitching staff. Knowing that they can get away with a mistake Or two goes a long way versus knowing they need to be 100% on in order to preserve the lead and/or win.

The Flamingos entered the 9th inning trailing Chicago 3-1, but a Chameleon Morningstar HR tied up the game, and set the stage for Peach Toucan to hit a bases-clearing, game-winning double at the Flamingos scored 6 in the top of the 9th to cap of a great comeback. We spoke with Toucan on what was going through his head as he stepped up to the plate:

Peach Toucan wrote:If I had to define myself, I'd say I'm the pillar of this defense, but I've never been too good at bat. Never as good as Cherry, Daiquirian or Spaceship. So it feels good to be the offensive hero tonight.

Brian Strong @Wheaties drove in the game winning run for Pittsburgh in the bottom of the 10th inning, ending a crazy 9-8 game between the Pioneers and Roos 9-8. He was approached for a quote:

Brian Strong wrote:The last few games I really been seeing the ball better. That game I was seeing it great and I knew if i had a chance to get up in the 9th, I was going to win it for us. What a great game and a great win!!!

Captain Hook @Hook had one of his most impressive pitching performances of the season with a complete game shutout against Redwood where he allowed only 3 hits. Hook's been a top of the rotation starter for the Pioneers. He was approached for a quote but went straight to the dugout before he could be contacted, but did get back into contact with us later on:

Captain Hook wrote:There is no better feeling than performing so well for my new team and at the start of my career. I personally thank my coaches and teammates for making this a great experience so far. Thanks for taking the time to speak with me.

Sherbrooke had an offensive explosion, hitting 5 Home runs with each of them proving vital in an 11-10 victory over Vegas. Kurtis McKenzie @PSanchez55 hit two of those homeruns, and we approached him to talk about the big day for Sherbrooke's lineup:

Kurtis McKenzie wrote:I've said all year, this offense is incredible. If we all get it going at the same time, you get games like this one. Aw, 2 home runs from me isn't anything special, I'm just doing what I was drafted to do.
